United Church, Canadian Govt Help "Rohingya" Muslims Invade Burma

The Canadian Foodgrains Bank <cfgb@foodgrainsbank.ca> send the church the following email plea:

Subject: Emergency Food Needed: Rohingya Refugees

600,000 children, women and men have abandoned their homes and all their belongings, seeking safety in Bangladesh.

Exhausted and living in deplorable conditions, they need our help.

We are already there, supplying oil, lentils, sugar and salt – essentials for more than 60,000 families. In response to the need, the Canadian government just announced a special 1:1 match for donations. This is on top of our regular 4:1 match from the government.
Toslima, an 18-year-old Rohingya refugee, holds her 5-day-old son. A mother’s worst nightmare, Toslima was in labour as she fled for safety. Her son was born at the side of the road. A stranger helped stopped to help. There was no hot water, no doctor and no midwife.
A gift of $100 will result in $600 of emergency food assistance!

The match runs until November 28. Please give today!
